The yearning was top tier. The twists and turns! A fully capable fmc and a broody mmc who is soft only for her.
This was already one of my favorite books of 2026. This was exactly the type of book I was looking for, at the right time.
It had everything I love in a romantasy – morally grey characters, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, a perilous journey, elemental powers. YUM.
Mayah of Tundrayn is to be married to the Crown Prince Faramir of Arbinj – two countries that have been at war for as long as they can remember. The Dark Commander Prince Zevayr comes to escort Mayah from Tundrayn to Arbnij to deliver her to her fiancee.
Mayah is my favorite type of FMC – she was strong, determined, cunning and also carrying her own extensive baggage.
